I am a life-long science fiction and comics fan in particular, and enjoy most other forms of creative popular culture--movies,
TV, and (old time) radio. I have peripheral interest in theatre, journalism, writing and publishing.

OUTSIDE MY OLD OFFICE
Of which I've had 5 or 6. This may be sometime in the early 90s. I was at the height of my powers,
both physically and workwise. I have been demoted several times since then, but the pay and benefits have increased. Go figure.
This was a great building to work in. It had been built to be an automobile dealership. I had
the corner office and the outside door shown to the delivery pad. Extraordinarily cold and hot in the winter and summer,
respectively, though. It was too far from the furnace to get forced air heat, and when the air conditioner broke they didn't
fix it.
I thought that was tough at the time, but later (much later, couple moves later) they moved me
to an unheated building! I spent two winters in that before they fixed the furnace. I also got heat exhaustion sometimes during
the summer (dizzy, sweating stops). This breeds hardiness!
